Last Day at Work!

So on the blessed day of August 11th... I worked my last day at Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics (clever name I know). So I gave myself a whole week to play and have fun before I came home! Good plan right?!?
This is where I spent my summer hours...
This is me with the Hygienist, Gail, and little Urmi in the front. A couple of my friends at work.

It really was a good job, it helped me make some decisions in my life. But I'm glad that it is done, and I'm glad I get to go back home to "my office!" It made me appreciate what I have back home even more!

My First Day at Work....

So I started my new job today and it is completely different than Utah. First off dental assistants aren't allowed to ANYTHING here! It's kinda sweet, cause I get paid quite a bit more to do less? Funny how that works out. But here we're not allowed to prophy, which is clean kids teeth. And they don't wanna pay a hygienist everyday to come, so the dentist actually does it and I have to "assist" them while they do it. So I pretty much just stand there with suction and wait for the spit to spatter! YUM! And the office is tiny!! I really fell like I'm stepping on people's toes all the time! Cam would go crazy here, with his O.C.D.-ness with stuff on the counters, because there is stuff EVERYWHERE!!! In the floor on the bathroom, the O2/N2O Tanks are in the waiting room, there is no staff lounge, its just a mini fridge and microwave in the back of reception, (and that is about the same space as Tonya's Office is at the Redwood Office I work at in Utah.) But it's good, one of the assistants is 8 months pregnant, so we all went out today for lunch for her "shower." The whole time I was thinking about LuAnn's, and how I was going to miss it... So happy wedding shower LuAnn! Oh! another thing that I LOVE about this job is that I don't have to write in ANY charts! I'm not allowed to! All the doctors write in them and make their own notes for everything! Isn't that awesome! I always hating writing in pt. charts the most! So much easier typing them... Anyways, I know I am probably not supposed to say this because of the whole patient confidentiality thing but oh well... Guess who's kids come to this office? Kevin Bacon! Crazy huh? I'm sure he isn't the one who brings them in, I'm sure its a nanny but anyway I guess welcome to New York!

JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well everyone... I got a job!!!
Can you believe it? I can't! I start tomorrow. It's at a pediatric dentist office in the upper east side. The doctor is really nice, and easy going. It's a tiny office though, since it is in New York. They have 3-4 different dentists that rotate through and work but there are only 2 operatives and one hygiene room! Tiny! When you look at the other offices that I worked at, 6 operative room (including hygiene) TINY! But I think it'll be fun. They told me that they were thinking about going paperless, and were really impressed when I told them I help Cam set up his office to be paperless with Dentrix (which is the computer program that Cam uses to!) So I told them I would love to help them get theirs all set up as well! I think it'll be perfect, and I will have a pretty nice paycheck :) so that makes it even that much better! So ya, pictures still coming I just needed to brag for a bit! But this means, visitors! Come and visit! I'll for sure be here for the whole summer!! Yeah!
