More to Come...

I have a lot more to still say... but it's 12:46, and i'm really tired, so more to come! Can you believe in 3 weeks I'll be home?? Summer has flown by!

The 4th of July!

So for the 4th of July, NY light off fireworks over the Hudson River. So May, Brittani and I decided that we would fight through the crowds, and go to the river and watch them. So may and I headed over first to find a good spot to watch them. We went over early, since we didn't have any blankets or chairs, we wanted to find a bench. We went over to the pier where there were benches lining it all the way down. We got there at about 5 or 6? and they didnt start until 9:30/10:00... So we had a bit of time to kill. It was so pretty out there, and we got to watch the sunset behind the skyline, awesome! Definitely worth the wait!

May and I

May and her roommate Miran, she just moved back to Utah... very sad

A little while later Brittani came down and enjoyed it all with us. She brought some face cards down with her, and we were sitting there trying to think of a game we could play on our laps with 3 people. So we figured, GO FISH!! So while we're playing this lady looks over at us and starts laughing, she said that she hadn't seen anyone playing go fish in a really long time, let alone 3 grown women... I love shocking people =)

So fireworks are about to start. it's the time that they say it will and a little bit down the river, there is a little red building. And we notice that there are some fireworks going off and we can barely see the very tips of them about the roof... we were like SERIOUSLY??? we just waited 5 hours and we can't even see them???? So a few minutes of this, Brittani and thought that we could run and maybe make it to the other side of the building. May didn't think that they were the right ones and wanted to stick around. So me and Brittani take off, we're fighting the irritating crowd, we get all the way through them and to the end of the pier when... BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! These HUGE fireworks start going off right in front of our faces... So the ones we saw earlier were NOT the real ones... and we gave up our awesome place for it. We didn't want to fight the crowd again to go find may so we just hung out there and watched them, we could still see okay though...
My favorite part about fireworks in NYC is that they reflect on the high-rise buildings, pictures don't do it justice...
And of course, the Empire State building (aka my neighbor :) Always lights up and changes for different holidays, was red, white and blue.

Great 4th of July!! Hope everyone else had a good one to!!

Biking along the Hudson

So brittani, may and I all had the 3rd of July off of work and decided we needed to do something fun to celebrate. So we all went and rented bikes and rode them along the Hudson. It was an easy ride, great view (even if it was the Hudson/Jersey). Lots of fun so here are some pictures to go along with it...

Okay so this isnt really so much of the ride but this sign is on a lot of buses and on the subway. And I just find it hilarious... Who was the genius that wrote an ad to learn english IN english?? Obviously if they could read it (yes the whole ad was in english, didnt even have 1/2 and 1/2, just english), then they wouldnt NEED english lessons/classes, right? Am I the only one who finds this hilarious? Ad writer... way to go!!
May and Brittani...
The George Washington Bridge
NEW JERSEY!!!
We thought we were tricky... Timers on cameras! Genius!

Okay funny story. So I had my timer on on my camera and went to look at a picture to see if it turns out. Well apparently when I switched it from taking mode to view mode, it turns the timer off. So I set it all up and was ready to take another one. I pushed the button and ran to join my friends, we sat there posed for a few seconds and the camera never took... So I go to look at it and this is the picture that it took, totally not posed, that is just how may is, I <3may

So that was our ride, so much fun! Can't wait to go again!

My Apartment!

So I realized that I have never posted pictures of my apartment on here so here it goes...

Here are some views from the balcony...

Can you see Macy's big red sign in the middle?

If you look all the way to the end of the street you can see some trees? That's Central Park, my favorite =)

My roommate Becky...

Our Bathroom... Sorry its yellow, I don't know why!

Brittani's and my room, mine is the one of the left... can you tell its an air mattress? I am so ready for my real bed again!!
Our closet, I was going to clean it but I thought... Why?
This is Becky's Room. So technically its not a room. The bookcase that is in the next picture is seperating our living room into 2 and becky's room is on the other side of that.
Brittani didn't want to smile...
Living Room...
Kitchen...

Our cuddlebag... not quite a love sac!

And thats that! I love our NY apartment, isn't Brittani amazing for finding it?? Other wise I wouldn't have met the best girls in NYC...
